We are sad to announce that Professor Carlo Cercignani passed away on January 7th, 2010.
Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Milano (Politecnico di Milano) and Member of the "Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei", he was one of the most respected scientists in kinetic theory, author of numerous books and articles in that field.
We present our condolences to his family and close collaborators.

Following its 2nd Executive Board meeting, the GASMEMS Supervisory Board members met for the 1st time in Eindhoven, on September 14, 2009.
This meeting was the occasion to meet for the 1st time with some of the partners, and most particularly with Associated Partners (AP) level 3, Brooks Instruments and Neroxis SA (ex-Silsens), who presented the research fields and industrial products of their companies.
The recruited ESR were represented by Alice Vittoriosi (ESR14-FzKa Karlsruhe).
Prof. Masahiro Kawaji, from the University of Toronto, also participated to the meeting by video-conference, as non-European oustanding scientist; he could bring his expertise and participate to the discussion on the activties and scientific orientations of the Network.
